Double shooting in Memphis leaves one man dead, another critically injured
2 year agoThe suspect exited the vehicle with the rifle and an officer involved shooting occurred. The suspect is deceased and TBI will assume lead of this investigation.
Tuesday about 10:45 pm, a patrol deputy saw a car stopped on Houston Levee near Pisgah rd. and stopped to check on the driver's welfare. The suspect waived a rifle and barricaded himself inside his vehicle. The SCSO SWAT Team and negotiators were called to the scene. 1 of 3
As negotiators were working to reestablish contact, the suspect speed away; a SWAT vehicle and a second deputy's vehicle were damaged. Deputies reported the suspect fired several shots during the pursuit. When the roadway ended on Dexter past Milbray St., 2 of 3
officers responded to a shooting at 3293 Creighton with 2 males shot. One victim was pronounced deceased on the scene. A second victim was xported to ROH critical. No suspect information. This is an ongoing investigation.
Man tries to steal car at gas station with pregnant woman, toddler inside, police say
Officers responded to a shooting at 3465 Lamar Ave. An unresponsive male shooting victim was located and pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect(s) fled in a dark-colored sedan.
A 76-year-old woman told police that a purse containing her badge and law enforcement ID from a sheriff's department in Florida also were taken in the incident around 10 p.m. Friday night on Oliver Avenue
